Until there is a dedicated site up, I wanted to have a page where I can be transparent about which companies have affiliate relationships with BoilerUniforms on Twitter and Instagram.

It it not expected to turn a profit from Boiler Uniform cataloging, but it is a time and resource intensive project. The more exposure the project can get, the more opportunities that are afforded to me for the account’s benefit which means more effort and time that I can put into the project overall. This will always be a labor of love primarily.

University Affiliation

I have no agency with Purdue University. I am not a member on staff of the university or athletics department.

I am a season ticket holder, member of the John Purdue Club, and alumnus. The account represents my information collected and personal opinions.

I strive to be a good unofficial representative of the university, as anyone who wears a piece of Purdue apparel should.

Additionally, this account is not affiliated with Nike.

Financial Referrals

I have entered into financial, referral based affiliation programs. These programs allow me to promote licensed apparel, tickets, memorabilia etc and receive a percentage based commission off of each sale.

These relationships produce income that is directly put back into subscriptions, templates, and expenses for the account. Special campaigns will be run where commissions will be donated.

Companies in this category:

  • Fanatics, 7% of sale
  • Gridiron Metalworks, 8% of sale
  • Vivid Seats, 10% of sale
  • Amazon, 2-10% of sale

Donations from Commissions:
Fall/Winter 2020: John Purdue Club More Than A Game, $300 donated
Spring 2021: Raphael Davis Bigger Than Basketball Camp, $100 donated
July 2021: Raphael Davis/Eric Hunter Basketball Camp, 2 Camper fees covered, $150
Spring 2022: Family Tickets to Purdue Baseball, $75 donated
Spring 2023: Family Tickets to Purdue Baseball, $75 donated

In Kind Gifts

In some cases, rather than establish a financial partnership, I have received items in return for shared content and engagement.

Generally these relationships develop out of direct conversations and interactions long before the brand established an in kind arrangement.

Items will be honestly reviewed. If A) I do not approve of the quality, B) the company is not licensed and are for profit, C) I cannot approve of the message from the company, I will end the relationship privately (providing reasoning and recommendation) and offer them an opportunity for me to make it whole (returning product, donation of product, etc).

Companies in this category:

  • Homefield Apparel
  • 19nine Threads

“Spend it like it’s my own money”

I strive to find the cheapest deals on anything I purchase — and that includes my Purdue gear. I always make an effort to verify the price listed is fair and comparable if not cheaper than other retailers if I provide an affiliate link.

I try to find coupons and promote sales as much as I would a new item. When it comes to an item that has direct competitors — such as sports tickets — I won’t provide an affiliate link when I can find a cheaper price elsewhere.

Licensed Merchandise

I will only promote or share merchandise for sale that is officially licensed either through Purdue University directly, or through CLC.

Because licensing is prohibitive for an individual, if they are donating an item or not using Purdue marks, I may promote their items.

If they are using licensed Purdue Marks and are looking to sell an item, I will direct them to the Purdue Crafter’s License and help establish a connection for them, but will not promote their product until licensed.

Sports Gambling

At the present time, I have no interest in promoting Sports Gambling, especially at the collegiate level. While I might be interested in noting a spread or an over-under, or even a pay out for a particular bet, I don’t have any interest in financial gain off a direct contest of student athletes.

This is also in agreement with the Purdue Ethics Policy — III.A.5.

Affiliate Request Process

If there is an interest in working together, please refer to the Affiliate Contact Story.
